ChrisMont Regional Safe Schools Program

We offer academics, as well as a transformational curriculum which stresses social and behavioral development.  Our goal is to have the students successfully reenter a traditional classroom.

    The ChrisMont Program is located in Morrisonville, Illinois.  ChrisMont is an alternative educational program to the regular education program of the following schools in Christian and Montgomery Counties:  Hillsboro, Litchfield, Panhandle, Nokomis, Morrisonville, South Fork, Edinburg, Taylorville, and Pana. ChrisMont is run by the Regional Office of Education as a program for students who are close to expulsion and/or have become so disruptive that administration and staff cannot conduct quality education programs with their presence.

    To enroll in ChrisMont, the referral must come from the student's home school.  The administrator of the home school may use descriptors found on the first page of the handbook as guidelines in making a decision for placements of students in the program.  If the student meets the eligibility requirements, an intake meeting is scheduled.  After the intake is held, the student will be officially enrolled and will begin classes at ChrisMont.
